This simulation shows the impact of the 85mm BR-365K APHE-T with hardened steel body being fired from a Soviet T-34-85 tank at a range of 0.63km, targeting the front hull of the US M26 Pershing tank. The Korean War presents an intriguing opportunity to compare American and Soviet World War II tanks. These erstwhile allies had developed their tanks in the 1943 period to fight German Panzers, only to face one another unexpectedly on a Cold War battlefield. The only US tanks available in Japan at the start of the Korean War were M24 Chaffee light tanks, which were completely inadequate against the T-34-85. With its 85mm cannon, it's easily capable of piercing the American Chaffees and Shermans, while only the Shermans can fight it effectively in return. The 72nd Tank Battalion was the first unit to arrive in Korea with any significant number of M26 tanks. From a purely technical standpoint, a comparison of the T-34-85 against the newer and heavier M26 is not entirely fair. ► Patreon ✔ https://www.patreon.com/SimulationPlus ► Twitter: ✔ https://twitter.com/SimulationPlus
