How To Make A Traditional Woodworkers Mallet! Check out my online shop: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/SeanEveleghWoodwork Traditional woodworking mallets were made from two pieces of wood, the mallet head and the handle. The handle had an angled head (like a dovetail) and the mallet head has a tapered mortise, so the handle goes in one way and gets wedged in position. The harder you hit the mallet the tighter the joint gets and the head will always stay in place. There is no glue in this project and the mallet traditionally was all made from hand tools, In the video I will be using some machinery to speed up the process, but all the joinery, curved handle and scallop chamfers were done by hand.
