King Constantine II, the last monarch of Greece, died at age 82 while being treated for an unknown illness in a private hospital in Athens. His wife, Queen Anne-Marie, arranged his private funeral. The couple had been married for 58 years and had five children. They first met when Constantine, then Crown Prince, visited Denmark on a state visit with his parents and was received by Anne-Marie's parents, the King and Queen of Denmark. At first the couple's engagement was kept secret, and the wedding was postponed until 1964 due to King Paul's illness and subsequent death. Three years later Constantine was forced into exile after a military coup, and the monarchy in Greece was abolished.
