With the super AMOLED panel, the content on the screen has great color accuracy with deeper blacks and brighter whites. The Xiaomi MI 8 display features Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2248 pixels) packing a 402 pixels in every inch. The display on the handset also comes with high dynamic range as it is HDR 10 enabled. The screen is also shielded with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the top to avoid any cracks and scratches during the fall. In terms of hardware, the device is furnished with the powerful Snapdragon 845 chipset backed by 6GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the smartphone comes with three variants: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. However, the phone has not SD card slot to expand the storage in case of insufficiency. With this chipset and RAM setup, the Xiaomi MI 8 performance is stellar. We ran multiple high end games and played the games vigorously. And in the entire gaming session, the smartphone did not lag or stutter. We also tried Multitasking between numerous apps and switching between them. On doing so, the smartphone ran with an absolute fluidity without any hiccups. On the camera front, the MI 8 comes with a dual camera setup at the back comprising of a 12MP primary shooter backed by another 12MP telephoto camera. Unlike most of the smartphone available in the market, Xiaomi MI 8 does not use front camera to register and read the face for face unlock feature. The phone has dedicated sensors for 3D facial scanning and it does the job genuinely. The Xiaomi MI 8 face unlock gives the impression of the similar feature in the iPhone X. The registering the face and unlocking the device using the Xiaomi MI 8 face ID is really fast and accurate. Moving on to the more of the Xiaomi MI 8 features, the smartphone welcomes with the Android Oreo (v8.1) since the first book. Xiaomi has also added its custom skin MIUI 9.5 on the top.
