We were delighted when we chose to take the gravel back road from Ladybrand to Clocolan. Along the way, we came across the intriguing Modderpoort Railway junction which was clearly a hive of activity back in the day, judging by the number of railway lines and houses. Continuing our journey, we encountered roadworks as we entered the town. We marvelled at the many beautiful gabled and sandstone buildings and discovered numerous points of interest such as the showgrounds and the old station.
