A One Rupie coin from German East Africa dated 1898. In fairly decent condition for a coin that is 119 years old. German East Africa was a colony encompassing modern day Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania. The German East African Rupie ceased mintage in 1916 and the colony became a League of Nations Mandate under Britain and Belgium following Germany's defeat in World War 1.
