Cholesterol Test - https://trylgc.com/simplecholesterol My Scale - https://amzn.to/2up60ey Egg Cups - https://amzn.to/3awRYbj In the movie, The Beauty and The Beast, the muscle bound villain Gustan talks about how he ate 5 dozen eggs every day to get this impressive physique... And while he maybe just a cartoon, it got me thinking, what if I ate 1 dozen eggs, every single day, what would happen? I mean eggs are said to be the highest quality of protein you can buy. Egg protein has just the right mix of essential amino acids needed by humans to build tissues. It is second only to mother’s milk for human nutrition. Eggs are said to lead to weight loss with a proper diet They can your lower blood pressure And can even boost testosterone in men They are also great for your brain, eyes and hair. And while a lot of people worry that eating too many eggs can cause high cholesterol, many studies have actually shown eggs can improve your good cholesterol. Most of these tests involved only eating 3 eggs daily. Well I’m about to put eggs to the test. By eating 12 eggs EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. And with the help from my friends at LetsGetChecked.com I can take blood samples at home and get them checked by mail, so I’ll also be checking changes to my Cholesterol and Testosterone levels. At the beginning of the experiment, my stats were as follows. Weight: 205.5 pounds Body Fat % - 20.7% Waist Measurement - 37.5” Blood Pressure - 127 over 87 Cholesterol: A shocking 253 On a side note I was completely unaware of my cholesterol this high when I started this experiment, thankfully I decided to test my cholesterol for this video and now I know. That is the thing about cholesterol, you can look fine to the eye, but with cholesterol you just never know. But more about this in a future video. Just a note, it’s good to check checked so you know and can take care of it before it’s too late. HDL (Good Cholesterol) was 48 Total Triglycerides were 147 LDL (Bad Cholesterol) was 189 HDL % of total was 18.8% Testosterone Level was 766 Throughout the work week, to make life simpler, I prepared the eggs ahead of time. I prefer to poach them in these silicone poaching cups, so I don’t have to deal with peeling the shell. I make 2 eggs for breakfast, and 2 for lunch. I refrigerate them, and eat them cold. It makes getting my eggs in on workdays super easy. So here are my results from eating a dozen eggs a day for 7 days, thats 84 eggs in total. We’ll first start out with my weight. Over the course of 7 days, I was able to lose 3.8 pounds, that’s 1.72 Kilograms. According to my scale, my water weight when up slightly and my body fat percentage went down .8 %, so conclude that my weight loss during this experiment was mostly fat. My waist also saw a noticeable decrease in size in just 7 days, decreasing by 1 and a half inches or nearly 4 centimeters. While eating the eggs I certainly did notice that my midsection slimmed down, and the amount of fat in the area decreased. I also saw a slight change in my blood pressure after one week of eggs, going from 127 over 87 to 120 over 88. Now this brings us to what stopped me from proceeding with this experiment and that was how it was affecting my already high cholesterol, and it was a good thing I stopped after one week, because my cholesterol was not improving and was only getting worse. My Cholesterol went from an already high 253 to and even higher 276. My HDL (Good Cholesterol) did see a slight improvement going from 48 to 52, so eggs did indeed increase my good cholesterol, but it was ever so slightly. My total triglycerides dropped from 147 to 116. When I came to my LDL (your bad cholesterol) I saw a jump from 189 to 215. My HDL percent of total stayed exactly the same. And finally when it came to my testosterone, surprising I saw it lower over my preliminary reading by 121 points. Though it must also be mentioned that testosterone levels can fluctuate quite a bit during the day and you can see by this chart from the University of Louisville. I did however take this test at the exact same time of day. When it came to eating a dozen eggs a day, the results were mixed for me. I certainly lost weight and shrunk my waist and I had some minor improvements to parts of my cholesterol profile. But eggs also continued to raise my cholesterol, especially my bad cholesterol. I also saw a decrease in testosterone. At the end of the movie Beauty and the Beast, the muscle bound villain Gaston dies an untimely death, to avoid the same fate, I will not recommend eating a dozen eggs a day, but hey that's just my opinion.
