Aref Arefkia was born in Tehran on August 10th, 1941. Aref's introduction to music came in part by his Azerbaijanian mother and by listening to Radio Baku as a child. Radio Baku played exceptional Azerbaijanian and Western music as well as famous European Opera. In 2006 Aref released his album Gharib anam "Qərib Anam" which is an Azerbaijanian album with famous Azerbaijanian songs. In total there are 8 tracks included famous songs as Qarabagh, Dashli Qala and Kuchelere su sepmishem.
