On the third Saturday of every April, the world now celebrates Record Store Day - an event where artists, music fans, and records stores themselves all get together to promote these wee bastions of independent music. We got up nice and early (apart from Ally, who was still in bed until lunch) to try and catch the queue of people keen to get special releases, then spent the day sampling the delights around Glasgow. And yes - "third April in every month" - IT WAS 8AM, so shut it. We spoke to the venues, the bands and the fans that make this day special; a day that shows support for the independent music stores around the world. Our favourite moments included; Koreless at Rubadub, Woodenbox and a Fistful of Fivers at Love Music, Frightened Rabbit at Mono, a man doing push-ups, and Malky B of nevermakefriends.com spending his future childrens inheritance on all the vinyl in the world.
