Hi friends! Today I'm yapping all my thoughts about "mid century modern" It's hard to go anywhere with an interior design project without running into these words somewhere. I see them used so often and really often used pretty incorrectly. So I wanted to share a little bit about the mid century modernist movement. I always see people treating mcm like just another interior design aesthetic, so I want to give a really brief overview of the history of modernism and how it let to the mid century modern style we know today. I talk about the case study house project, the rise of modernism in the US in the 50s and 60s, and the difference between modernist principles and midcentury fashion/style. I also talk about the confused "mid century modern revival" that happened in the 2000 and 2010s, and how I think you should approach shopping for furniture if you like mid century modern style. Let me know what you think so we can nerd out together !! xx nd ---------- design consultations: noahdanielstudio@gmail.com tiktok: noahdaniel.studio insta: noahdaniel.studio pinterest: noahdanielstudio ---------- 0:00 intro 0:14 mid century modern design 1:06 what is modernism 2:02 a brief history 3:42 mid century modernism 4:55 mcm revival 8:38 how to incorporate mcm design 10:46 fin
