I bought a lot of rain jackets and all of them wet out after the first season. I personally feel that a poncho does a much better job keeping the rain off your skin. You have to deal with the rain because nothing is going to keep you perfectly dry. Buddha's advice is to carry an extra pair of socks, shirt, underwear and pants in a waterproof bag. Once you out ot the rain you can change into dry cloths and hope the rain stops the next day.
