Three police officers remain in hospital Wednesday following the foiled bank robbery and shooting that took place a day earlier at a bank in Saanich, B.C. Saanich Police Chief Const. Dean Duthie said the three officers suffered life-threatening injuries and have undergone extensive surgeries. One remains in intensive care, he added, and the other two will require additional surgeries and treatment in the coming months. The other three officers injured in the shooting have been released from hospital and are recovering at home, Duthie added. Officers responded Tuesday morning to the Bank of Montreal in the 3600-block of Shelbourne Street in the community north of Victoria and encountered armed suspects who opened fire. Of the six total officers injured, three were from Saanich police and three were from the Victoria Police Department.
