The company said it phased out production of IC-V82 devices, the model identified in the reports, in 2014. At least 20 people were killed and nearly 450 injured when the walkie-talkies exploded. Israel has said it was entering a “new phase” of war after a series of explosions involving electronic communication devices primarily used by members of the militant group Hezbollah. On September 17, pagers exploded killing at least 12 people and injuring nearly 3,000.
