A quick little comparison between the performance of tires in snow at street pressure VS airing down to 8 Psi. A lot of off-roaders, trying out snow wheeling often make the mistake of not airing down far enough, or not at all. This usually results in rigs stuck on the trail causing traffic jams behind them. This can be avoided by airing down your tires to ultra low pressures of 10 Psi and below. Airing down one's tires allows a degree of flotation, keeping your frame and running gear out of the snow which will help you from getting hung up and stuck. If you're willing to be brave and try it, you're going to have a GREAT time out in the snow. Oh, and bring a tow strap, because you'll be pulling everyone one else out for a change!
