The Perfect Drum Machine (For Me) Being a drummer and an electronic musician, I've always been looking for a drum machine that would let me combine the expressiveness of acoustic drums, with the endless sound design of electronic music. While things like the Nord Drum 3p and the Synthstrom Deluge have existed, they're both expensive, and quite large. However, after discovering the 1010 Razzmatazz, I'm pretty sure I can definitely say that it's the perfect drum machine for me. Combining 2 FM oscillators with any wav file I want is already powerful enough, but the modulation options are incredible. I can use velocity to modulate almost any parameter I want, and in any direction. This leads to some of the most playable electronic drum sounds I've ever used, or even heard. While this little box definitely isn't for everyone, if you're a drummer looking for a compact, affordable, and expressive drum machine, this might just be what you're after.
