I had the honor and privilege of being commissioned by CONCORA to write a new work, and then had the extra privilege of conducting my colleagues! I hope you enjoy this music. Below are the program notes and texts as they appear in the score: The concept behind ...in peace came to me after coming across these two stunning texts by Anne Brontë and Sara Teasdale, and seeing how they perfectly complement each other. The Brontë text is a small section of a larger work of hers titled "Self Communion," while Teasdale's poem "Peace" is presented in its unabridged form. I find the combination of the two texts to be absolutely magical, thought-provoking, and meditative. I see it as a reminder to allow ourselves to take time to escape the turmoil of our troubled world, and let peace flow through our souls... to let love, hope, and wonder rejuvenate our spirits.
