A gorgeous minor key talking blues about the despair of a prisoner who is in for life - "Sometimes looks like my best day gotta be my last day". This prisoner was the great bluesman Robert Pete Williams, recorded by Harry Oster at the Angola State Penitentiary (Louisiana) in 1959. It was first issued on the LP "Angola prisoner's blues" (Folklyric, 1959), reissued by Arhoolie (LP, 1970 ; CD, 1996).
