JR East is a private rail service provider in the northeastern area of mainland Japan. In Tokyo, you find an incredibly large and complex system of lines running all throughout the city and to the suburbs. Offering subway like frequencies on main lines and incredible connectivity in the Tokyo area, this regional rail network serves as a backbone to one of the most famous rail systems in the world. Some lines alone get more ridership than full metro systems in the Americas and I think more cities around the world should use this system as an example to building good transit. Enjoy the video!
