The 2021 Australian & New Zealand Boutique Wine Show became the first wine show globally to be judged virtually and in real time. Covid lockdowns threatened this annual event celebrating its 26th year. Cancellation was never an option for organisers, so the team set about re-working the operation to have the wines re-poured and assessed at home by the team of leading wine judges. After several 5am starts, 2000 x 100ml bottles re-poured, 3000 glasses polished and 650km travelled around Sydney, the job was done and a new benchmark set.
