"The Best That We Are" is a number that was written for a book musical, but was later cut from the score. This is the demo recording by Cindy Robinson, who delivers a terrific rendition of this song about how people deal with their unrealized dreams. Incidentally, her character in the play is an attorney and she is singing to a Government agent.
