Basically Envy 13 is HP’s Entry level premium laptop. This Laptop is very thin, and weighs only 2.5Lbs and can be used for everyday use. It is not an incredibly small laptop, but small enough to easily carry around college campus, and can slip into a backpack or purse. Specs & Features: The Laptop has ultra-bright FHD display with extremely thin bezels, and HP calls it micro-edge display. Display has decent viewing angles due to being an IPS panel. Visuals are handled by integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. .The FHD display is certainly bright enough and the colors looks great and doesn’t appear washed-out. Watching YouTube or Netflix, 4K Content looks really good, and, this display works well in low light conditions too as the brightness can be lowered to a minimum and to use it in the darker environments, meaning less strain on your eyes. Audio is powered by Bang & Olufsen, with quad speakers and a smart amplified. Volume was plenty loud with only minimal distortion at full strength. The laptop features clever hinge that lifts the laptop slightly when you open it and props the keyboard at a slight typing angle. The HP Keyboard is good for longer typing experience, it does not quite reach the quality and comfort of the Lenovo ThinkPads. The pressure point is only slightly noticeable and the feedback of the keys is a bit stiff. It’s an island keyboard with silver keys and black lettering. The key size and arrangement are very good, and our unit came with and optional keyboard backlight. The touchpad is big enough for laptop size and very responsive. HP has switched from Synaptics to Microsoft Precision Touchpad drivers, and it’s game changing improvement. The Fingerprint reader is located on the right side of the laptop and easy to access, and supports Windows 10 Hello password less login. The 720p webcam captures above-average images, and It's not a face-recognition camera, and also lacks the option to close the webcam if not in use. Performance: In the Performance Section Our HP is equipped with 8th Gen Intel's Core i5 processor. This processor is based on the Kabey Lake architecture and is well-suited for use in slim notebooks. Our Unti scored 1178 pts in Cinebench Multi-thread CPU Performance test running @ 1.8Ghz, which is not the best score, but provides enough horsepower to take on daily projects. The storage solution in the HP offers read and write rates that are above average, thanks to nVMe SSD Our Unit score 2240 MB/s Read & 700 Mbs Write in AS SSD benchmark.
