There's so much that gets me jazzed about this cover - all the layered harp parts, the gorgeous vocals that just float over the accompaniment... AND I got to do this with my good friend Julia Henderson!! Working with Julia was a delight and she really knocked it out of the park with those soaring melody lines. Hearing our voices blend in the mix made me giddy every time I heard so I've been listening to it on repeat for weeks, hahaha. What was also really fun about this was trying out all the harp lines on different harps I have and seeing which harp suited which part best! (Another plus to using different harps is that it helps differentiate the parts in the mix.) Not only that, but I got to pull out a recorder for the first time in ages, AND my upright piano made its first ever recorded appearance in one of my covers. My headphones could barely stretch far enough from my interface when I was recording so I had to kneel a bit far away from the piano and reach over to play the notes XD Got the job done, though!
