"Unbreakable Patches: Full Quest Line, Gestures, Inventory, and Complete Set"—Unbreakable Patches plays the role of a trickster in the Dark Souls series, and he does so again here. After trolling you a few times in your journey, he takes up residence in Firelink Shrine, where he becomes a vendor. This gamechive completely chronicles the Unbreakable Patches Quest Line, and features the following sequences: Note: Steps 1–2 are missable if you travel to the cathedral rooftops without first encountering Unbreakable Patches wearing the Catarina Armor 1. In the Cathedral of the Deep, travel past (or kill and loot) the Giant Slave into the upper area with the rows of pews. Go to the far left side and take the elevator to the upper level. Go forward and to the left to find Unbreakable Patches wearing the Catarina Armor. Cross over the walkway to the other side. It's a trap! After defeating the Giant Slave (or if it was already defeated), head over to the other side, which leads back to the Cleansing Chapel Bonfire. Open the door closest to the bonfire. Inside is an elevator that leads to the cathedral rooftops and rafters. Explore the entire area, and once done, drop down from the rafters to the platform below. 2. Patches is found here (without the Catarina Armor) and becomes a merchant. Speak with him and choose "You Know Who I Am" to receive the Prostration gesture and Rusted Coin (crush to temporarily boost item discovery). His inventory includes the following items: - Red Bug Pellet = $1,000 - Black Firebomb = $300 - Rope Black Firebomb = $300 - Human Pine Resin = $1,500 - Alluring Skull = $800 - Rusted Coin = $200 - Rubbish = $200 - Parrying Dagger = $2,000 - Shotel = $4,000 - Winged Spear = $1,000 - Pierce Shield = $3,000 - Catarina Helm = $3,500 - Catarina Armor = $4,500 - Catarina Gauntlets = $3,500 - Catarina Leggings = $3,500 - Black Leather Armor = $2,500 - Black Leather Gloves = $2,000 - Black Leather Boots = $2,000 - Poison Arrow = $120 Note: The full Catarina Set is required to move Siegward of Catarina's Quest line forward: https://youtu.be/yS7uJVdHGUw To complete Patches' look, buy the Black Leather Set and Winged Spear, and match it with the Twin Dragon Greatshield found back in Road of Sacrifices. 3. Finish exploring the Cathedral of the Deep area and defeat the Deacons of the Deep Boss. Warp back to Firelink Shrine and (if haven't already) purchase the Tower Key for $20,000 souls from the Shrine Handmaid to unlock the door to the Bell Tower behind the shrine. Then, go to the upper level, outside, and all the way up the tower. Take the elevator up, and you'll hear a door slam. Take it back down, and speak with Patches. Ah, tricked again. Either warp back to Firelink Shrine, or travel the route down the tower (to get the Firekeeper Set and Estus Ring) and back to the shrine. 4. Patches will now permanently reside on the upper level of Firelink Shrine. Choose the "Do not forgive him" dialogue to receive a Rusted Gold Coin (crush to temporarily greatly boost item discovery). He becomes a merchant again. 5. Leave the shrine and then come back to find Patches squatting. Speak with him to receive the Patches Squat gesture. His inventory is updated with the following items: - Ember = $5,000 (x4) - Horsehoof Ring = $500 "An old ring with a seal depicting a horse's hoof. Boosts kick effect. Unbreakable Patches adored this ring and the feeling that it gave him when he kicked his marks into the depths of treacherous traps, but suffered no shortage of ridicule from his associates for relying so heavily on the tired old trick. But who is the sorrier? The horse who knows only to kick, or the fool who approaches the old beast without thought?" 6. Save Greirat of the Undead Settlement, part 1. Grant his request to pillage Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. Once he's left, speak with Patches, and he'll follow after him and save him. (Or have Siegward save him instead.) Once he's left, speak with Patches, and he'll follow after him. This time, though, Greirat will die (unavoidable), but Patches will return with a Hidden Blessing added to his inventory for $16,000. Depending on where Unbreakable Patches is killed (and his status), he will drop the Catarina Set, Pierce Shield, Winged Spear, Horsehoof Ring, and his ashes. Give his ashes to the Shrine Handmaid and she will update her inventory with his former wares.
