The Karuma Hydro electric power station, with a capacity of 600 Megawatts, is set to be officially commissioned on the 26th of September. The power station, which began commercial operations in June, 2024, marks an important milestone in Uganda’s energy sector. Ahead of the official launch, our Business reporter, Dennis Sigoa, sat down for an exclusive interview with Dr. Patricia Litho, Assistant commissioner, communications and information management at the Ministry of energy, who provided key insights into the Power stations capacity, and its expected transformative impact on both the energy and the broader economy.
