A new video in a series of common guitar tunings. This is how to tune your guitar to what is known as E Standard Tuning. This is the tuning with which we commonly start and is required for learning all your common chord and scale patterns. We tune (from low to high) EADGBE. String 6 is the thickest, lowest sounding string that is nearest to you as you look down upon the strings. String 1 is the thinnest, highest sounding note nearest the floor. To use the video like a guitar tuner try and play each string in order from low to high along with the video and try to match the pitch of the note being played.
