The Mount Roberts Tramway gondola soars 1,745 feet to the upper tramway facility that offers you amazing views of downtown Juneau and the cruise ships docked below. The tramway employs a cable system known as a 'ropeway' that was initially used in the European Alps in the late 1800s. If you're in Juneau then the Tramway is definitely something you should do in addition to seeing Mendenhall Glacier (see other video for a full glacier tour).
