When you're expressing yourself on a performance synthesizer such as the wonderful Moog Sub37, be sure to use all the knobs and controls! Make them part of the performance! They're as valuable in telling your musical story as the actual notes you're playing. Cutoff, resonance, envelope depth, glide time, oscillator octave, oscillator shape, filter decay time, LFO speed - don't just "set and forget" - manipulate the texture of the sound AS you play. Apart from creating sonic inteterest, you'll find it will also inspire you to play different notes and phrases to what you may have otherwise! Keep it funky!
