This song was generated using Suno. The lyrics are from The Fellowship of the Ring. I thought it would be an interesting project to see what an AI song generator would do to one of Tolkien's poems. I got the idea while I was listening to an audiobook version of The Fellowship of the Rings, mainly because the songs that are sung by the audiobook reader are pretty lame and inconsistent in terms of rhythm and melody. The background image was generated by ChatGPT 4.o using the text of the poem as input for the image generation. I generated eight versions of the song using the prompt: "Medieval, lute, ethereal, atmospheric, male voice" along with the original text. Seven of the songs were truly awful. This is the best of the bunch, still IMHO, mostly lame. For some reason, Suno thought the best time signature for the song was 6/8, I suppose based on the meter of Tolkien's poem. In the book, the song is sung by Legolas just before the Fellowship of the Ring enters Lothlorien.
