When people are getting dental implants, they often want to know about the experience—is it going to hurt—and they want to know everything that's involved in the procedure. It's pretty straightforward. First thing is when you come into our dental office, we go over your dental history, we take some X-rays and examine the bone that's surrounding the tooth where the implant will go. That's step one which is very easy. Step 2 is where we plan an appointment for you to come in and we will place the implant, and usually under sedation to your remain relaxed and comfortable. Step 3 is a few months down the road where we take an impression of the implant to send to the laboratory where they will make a crown which we screw into the implant, and at that point you have a new tooth.
