Plato's "Apology" is actually Socrates' defence in court. The Ancient Greek word for "defence" is incredibly similar to that of our word for "apology" however used completely differently. Although the text is small, this dialogue is incredibly important for giving us insight into Socrates' trial, where he was charged with the "laws against impiety" and "corrupting the youth".
