SCSC & CYBERABAD POLICE INTERACTION CUM FELICTIATION PROGRAM OF TRAFFIC VOLUNTEERS In tune with the various initiatives being taken up by the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) Traffic Forum, traffic volunteers have made a huge difference to road safety with the visible participation of corporate employees and citizens to ease the commute of the vehicles in the IT Corridor. Recently, two traffic volunteers (TV’s)who have been extending their services for the regulation of traffic under Cyberabad Commissionerate limits came to the rescue of three accident victims. At Nallagandla flyover in Serilingampally, a speeding bike hit a pedestrian while he was crossing the road. Traffic volunteer Vidyasagar Jagadeeshan, who was on his way back home from work at the time, took notice of the injured man, provided him first-aid, and alerted the traffic police DCP Traffic has congratulated all the Traffic Volunteers who have worked for more than 21000 hrs. Cyberabad DCP Traffic said some Do’s and Don’ts for SCSC Traffic Volunteers SI NO DO’s 1 Keep your eyes always on the road 1st priority is our safety. 2 Every volunteer must wear reflective jackets while performing duty. 3 Must use LED battens at night times. 4 Every volunteer should stand roadside to give hand signal. 5 Educate pedestrians and create awareness among public. 6 Every volunteer should be aware of Basic life support. 7 Every volunteer should be aware of traffic rules and follow traffic rules. 8 Behavior of traffic volunteer should be polite with the public. 9 Volunteers can share their observations and their ideas to improve traffic management. 10 Should share traffic violation images with required data i.e. date, time and location to our Whatsapp number (9490617346). SI NO DONT’s 1 No traffic volunteer supposed to argue with any traffic police or public. 2 No volunteer supposed to perform vehicle checking and should not grab vehicle keys. 3 Volunteer should not perform traffic signal operations. 4 Should not run middle of the road to catch violators. 5 Should not talk on phone while performing traffic duty (It is dangerous for volunteers) 6 Unnecessary things should not discuss in TV Group. 7 Argument with group volunteers also prohibited. SCSC Vice chairman said Patience and passion are driving the traffic volunteers. SCSC Secretary Mr. Krishna Yedula reiterated that a platform like this was Unique and a model of its kind in India which motivates more and more people to come forward to do their bit for the society. SCSC Jt. Secretary Venkat Tankasala presented PPT on traffic volunteers duties and other things. He said SCSC traffic app was upgraded. A video has been played showing the SCSC and the Traffic Volunteers working on the Roads. Addressing the Q & A in the interactive Session CP Sir and DCP Sir have told that, - we should not allow the Auto or Cab Drivers to talk on mobile while driving - we will seize any vehicle with more than 10 challans pending - requested all to fill up the feedback forms with their concerns which will be addressed - Then there were individual ideas shared by traffic volunteers. As part of a citizen friendly initiative, feedback was collected from all volunteers present on their ideas for better traffic movement which was noted by Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr.SM Vijay Kumar, IPS. All the traffic Volunteers were felicitated under the categories as mentioned below: 1- Most traffic Hours Volunteered (100+ hours) – 15 members. 2- Most Violations Recorded – 10 Members. 3- Special reward for showing Humanity while doing Traffic Volunteering – Rajashekar chinnam, Vidyasagar Jagadeeshan. 4- Companies Promoting Traffic Volunteering - TCS, DLF, Incor, Synchrony, Cognizant The participants in the programme were Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, Shri VC Sajjanar, IPS., DCP Traffic SM Vijay kumar, IPS., SCSC Vice chairman Bharani Aroll, Mr. SCSC Secretary Krishna Yedula, SCSC Jt.
