ISTANBUL MODERN: This track originally goes back to the EP FÜNFZEHN from the same year (2015) by the neuen deutschen veteranen-punk-band OTTOMOTOR. As a founding member and guitarist of this legendary Bernese band, I was personally involved in the creation of the original song ISTANBUL. Various alternative soundtracks were created, which ultimately didn't appear in the released version. After returning from a week-long city trip to ISTANBUL with my girlfriend at the time, I created a remix of the original with published and unpublished single tracks using the DAW REAPER. Especially the vocal lines of the singer STURM are taken from the original track. The basic sounds of the RHYTHM SECTION, the bass drum by HANSJE DIESLER and the fat bass sound by DANIEL KURBELWELL also have their origins in the original version. However, the acoustic guitar I play, which sounds like a SAZ in the remix, comes from unreleased material from the acoustic version. The remix was later unofficially released on YouTube and Facebook and found a remarkable following there.Today, almost ten years later, I have decided - in consultation with my musician friends at the time - to modernize the remix and release it again. This time officially! Together with LUK WALTHER from TTMC.CH, the accomplished TECHROCK and hip-hop producer from BERN WEST, we have taken the track to a new level using the latest technology and trendy effect algorithms.
