Tama Spontaneous Jam, performed by Chinobay (fka Kinobe) & The African Sensation (www.chinobay.com) in concert at the Institute of Musical Traditions (www.imtfolk.org) concert, Rockville, MD, USA on April 25, 2011. Chinobay shares the traditional sounds of Uganda and the African continent, performing exclusively on a wide variety of beautiful acoustic instruments. Chinobay is joined in 2011 by his acoustic band, The African Sensation. These artists are the new vanguard of Ugandan performers representing the inspired synthesis of African roots and global fusion. Driving polyrhythms underlay transcendent melodies; traditional African instruments -- koras, kalimbas, adungus, endongos, ngonis, and drums-- blend with modern instrumentation to prove, once again, that music is the most beautiful, universal language. Sound: Art Isaacs, Dave Eisner, Dave Richardson, Paul Blotkamp Lighting: Paul Blotkamp Camera: Becca Schwartz, Ralph Lillie Editing: Ralph Lillie © 2011 Institute of Musical Traditions
