RECOMMENDED FOR WEIGHT LOSS: https://bit.ly/2X5u2nL https://bit.ly/2xfkJa1 CREDITS TO: active.com Itβs a difficult thing to admit, but we live in a culture that is obsessed with body image, which leads to an unhealthy desire to change the way we eat in order to look a certain way. Many people refuse to exercise, and instead we alter how we look at food and structure insane meal plans just to mimic the people we see on the covers of magazines. Itβs terrifying to think that there are people who go to such extremes in order to lose weight. While you may think youβre doing yourself a favor, youβre actually hurting your body and setting yourself up for a lifetime of serious health issues caused by not supplying your body with the nutrients it desperately needs to survive. Partaking in these fad diets is only detrimental to your health, and most people who have gone through with one or more of the diets showcased in this video have either gained the weight back, experienced extreme medial issues, or both. When planning a healthier lifestyle for yourself, itβs important to look at the bigger picture. Whatβs going to help change the way you look and feel in the long run instead of whatβs going to help you get skinny quick. Being thin doesnβt always translate into being healthy. Fad diets are not necessarily designed to better your body, they are mostly created in order for people to lose weight as fast as possible, regardless of the health consequences. There are diets that allow for healthy ways to overhaul the way you eat so that you feel and look better, but mostly fad diets are designed as quick fixes, bandwagons that people jump on and off of without seeing many results. The fact that celebrities endorse fad diets doesnβt help Americaβs obsession with wanting to lose weight. If we see that a star we admire swears by a certain meal plan, weβre more likely to eat that way too. The truth is that celebrities may claim to have gone on a master cleanse, or they might say that they chew their food thirty-two times before swallowing, but thatβs not always the reality. Celebrities have trainers and dieticians helping them maintain their bodies. Many of these fad diets were actually created in Hollywood, itβs a marketing strategy targeted at the people that want to look like celebrities; itβs not necessarily the answer to a happy and healthier life. Always consult with a physician if you are planning on going on a diet, itβs important to be aware of the pros and cons when it comes to changing the way you eat. Also, remember that exercise is a better way to get fit, thereβs no need to swallow cotton balls or eat nothing but baby food. In order to create a healthier world for the generations that follow us, we need to stop looking at food as the bad guy and focus on eating well and consuming what we need to in order to live a healthier life.
