This Car had a loud roaring sound coming from the back end. The technician ruled out tires and brakes and even the noise from the axle outer bearings. using a stethoscope and running the vehicle with the tires off the ground he was able to determine the noise was from the center of the rear axle. the rear end was full of gear lube and no leaks were present. The fill plug in the rear axle had a tremendous amount of metal stuck to the magnet indicating a problem within the housing. We obtained permission from the vehicle owner of the Ford Mustang to remove the rear cover and begin inspecting for damaged parts. What you see here is an issue that was caught early enough so that only bearings and seals needed to be replaced along with new fluid and friction modifiers. We also replaced the clutch packs why the unit was apart being cleaned.
