Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is a beautiful and vibrant city in northeastern Spain that offers a mix of culture, history, and modern amenities. I arrived in Barcelona on a sunny day and immediately headed to my hotel, which was located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. From there, I started my exploration of this gorgeous city. It was only a small walk over to the picturesque Plaça Reial, a paved square lined with cafes and tapas bars, towering palm trees and a beautiful fountain right in the center. A small hop and I found myself right in the middle of La Rambla, a popular tourist destination known for its street performers, market stalls, and shops. The street stretches from Plaça de Catalunya to the Christopher Columbus Monument at the waterfront. I decided to save Plaça de Catalunya for another day and walk all the way down to the Christopher Columbus Monument this morning. From there, I just had to cross the street to experience Rambla de Mar, a super-modern walkway that stretches over the sea and offers breathtaking views over the port area. Next on my bucket list was Barceloneta, a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is located on the Mediterranean coast, east of the Old Town. This neighborhood is a very popular spot for tourists as well as locals alike and known for its long stretches of beaches and lively atmosphere. I wasn`t disappointed and it felt so good to see the beach and Mediterranean coast after this long walk. Thank you for walking with me and I hope you enjoyed this walk as much as I did.
