Ally and Weaver present half an hour of new Scottish music, every month. Episode 3 - August 2012 This month we split up, two festivals, one weekend. Ally headed down to the Scottish borders for the annual celebration of burning an effigy of a big man. In between seeing Scissor Sisters and Texas he managed to bring live footage of There Will Be Fireworks, Indie-festival-rave masters Fridge Magnets and hands the cameras over to The LaFontaines for a tour of the festival. An unwise move. Meanwhile Weaver packed his thermals and got the boat over the to the Isle of Eigg on the West Coast. There he got to hang out with the illustrious Fence Records family at their yearly festival on an island which usually has a population of 64. He bring footage of The Twilight Sad, a delicious Meursault session on an old boat and meets Eiggs only thrash metal band - The Massacre Cave Band. Obviously we couldn't have an episode of Detour without our resident new music expert Mr News, and man, does he deliver this month while reviewing new joints from We Are The Physics, Happy Particles and Dandy Riots #mrnewsreviews Sit down.
