Yoga is for everyone, together let’s be present! Welcome everyone, today's Yoga class is all about learning how to ease into some of those more intermediate backbends. Back Bends help the spine to become more flexible through yoga poses like Camel Pose, Bow Pose and Pigeon etc, but all these Yoga Poses need to be entered into safely and cautiously, especially if you're fairly new to yoga. If anything doesn't feel right remember to take a child's pose, or sit back and wait for the next Yoga Pose. Yoga is not a competition but a personal journey of discovery so never sit with pain or discomfort. When it comes to practicing and learn the art of back bending through Yoga, it is very important you enter them with a strong stable core, lifting up through the chest (Heart) before attempting to take the backbend, don't allow yourself to sag into your hip joints and lower back, always enter each pose mindfully and with ease. The use of Yoga Props is not a necessity but they will help ease you into the back bending Yoga postures without going too far before the body is ready. Backbend postures offer spinal flexibility slowly over time, which in turn with prevent future back pain. But please never attempt Yoga back bending postures if you have had surgery to your spine or if you suffer from any spinal conditions, always seek advice from your doctor first. But if you are well, flexible enough to give this Yoga class a go then together let's heal our spines slowly through this ancient and incredible practice we call Yoga.
