The Supreme Court invalidated a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, ruling that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives exceeded its authority in creating the regulation. Machine guns, which are illegal in the U.S., fire "more than one shot with a single function of the trigger," Moran said. "A bump stock uses the recoil of the rifle and the shooter's own manipulation... to achieve a very high rate of fire."
