In this four-part series, Pure Storage introduces a set of validated reference architectures for all-flash VDI, delivering the all-flash VDI experience for less than $100/desktop. Part 1: Storage Challenges of Next-Gen VDI Part 2: Pure Storage Reference Architectures for VDI Part 3: The All-Flash VDI End User Experience Part 4: The All-Flash VDI Administrator Experience In this third video, Pure Storage focuses on demonstrating the best-in-class end user VDI experience that all-flash VDI affords, reviewing the results of benchmark testing of 1,000s of users deployed on the FlashArray using the VMware View Planner benchmark. The FlashArray achieves an industry-leading low View Planner score of 0.52 seconds, and results are compared between both stateless linked clone desktops and persistent full clone desktops, showing similar performance between the two. The video also shows a live demo of a boot storm, an event where many users login concurrently, which in traditional storage arrays can create such a storm of I/O that the end-user experience grinds to a halt. The FlashArray handles the boot storm with ease, demonstrating under 1ms latency consistently while delivering 50,000+ IOPS. The video series is hosted by Pure Storage's VP of Products, Matt Kixmoeller (@mattkix) and Virtualization Solutions Architect, Ravi Venkat (@ravivenk)
