Fast Footwork is key for succesful badminton players! A crucial element for moving fast is an explosive and quick start and without a fast first step it is almost impossible to play on a high level. In this tutorial i will show you how to get faster on court by improving your start! ---Overview------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here a short overview about the different sections and topics in the video: 0:00 Introduction 0:55 Technical Breakdown 3:50 The Footposition 7:41 Timing and Rhythm 10:19 Outro --- Additional tipps ------------------------------------------------------------------- In this video i will go in detail about: o what you have to do technically, to have an explosive start on court o how you should use the start in different situations o when you have to start and what is important for a perfect timing and rhythm on court A quick start is important for singles and doubles because you need a quick first step to be high at the shuttle in offensive situations or to even reach the shuttle in defence, no matter if you have to cover full court, or only need one jump or step to reach the shuttle. That's why you should make a starting movement every single time! There are only two exceptions: In defence in doubles. Here it is likely that the shuttle will come to you and you don't have to move After a powersmash. After a hard smashing there is no time to do another split step until your opponent hits the next shot and in many cases you know where the next shuttle will come (in singles usually a straight short defence). --- More Videos ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On my channel i already published a lot more footwork tutorials, that will help you to get faster and more efficient on court.
