oBViouS DiScLaiMeR: Sound tests aren't exactly representative of how switches truly sound due to the nature of recording environments and the keyboards involved, so do your research and check out as many reviews and sources as you can before making a decision. This was recorded in OBS with a Shure SM58 microphone and a little gain. Sorry, you might have to increase the volume a bit. All relevant specs are on screen. Thoughts: Sure, these domes are weighted at 45g, but it is by far the most "intense" 45g-weighted switch I've ever had the pleasure of typing on. I can even see that the microphone arm is shaking a lot more than usual compared to other sound tests I've made so far. This is the venerable HHKB, with its venerable Topre domes. Rather than providing tactile feedback with a mid-press bump in MX-style switches, the bump in Topre switches are emphasized at the beginning of the keypress. If one is unfamiliar with how electro-capacitive switches work, I highly recommend doing some research on it. It's interesting - and it's not for everyone - but it's *different*. I haven't brought out this keyboard to type on for quite a while... and frankly, I know Topre isn't really "my thing". I like keeping it around though; really serves a good change of pace from time to time.
