The journalism competition set to become the leading amongst its kind, The Global Young Journalist Awards are back for their third year. With a mission to give students the chance to have their voice heard, and their work published, this journalism competition was established by The Day, an independent, online, subscription-based news publication for schools, focussing on the big global issues beneath the headlines. In celebration of International Women's Day this year we have a remarkable all-female panel including MP Jess Phillips, news presenter Cathy Newman, and Olympian Heather Fisher. These awards are: Open to young people aged 7-18 worldwide. Completely free to enter. Anyone aged under 19 on 1st January 2024 can enter the journalism competition using the following formats: - Writing - Video - Podcasting - Photography - Illustration - Graphics Last year saw over 500 entries from people all around the world, with talented young students from Uganda to Prague submitting seriously impressive work. The awards allowed them to do things they didn't expect they were capable of and get feedback from renowned journalist judges, and we can't wait for more bright young people to get involved in this year's journalism competition.
