This is a basic recipe for pizza dough that you can use to make great pizza in your home oven. Ingredients: 4 tsp salt 5 cups flour 2-2 ½ cups room temp water 2 tbsp honey (white sugar will also work) 1 tsp yeast 1 tbsp olive oil Instructions: 1. Combine salt with flour and mix together 2. Combine water, honey and yeast and stir until fully dissolved. Let sit for 5-10 minutes, or until the mixture becomes frothy on the surface. The honey will help to bloom the yeast, as well as brown the pizza in your home oven. 3. After water/yeast mixture has become frothy, slowly combine with your flour/salt mixture 4. Add olive oil to dough mixture 5. Once a shaggy dough has formed, dump the dough onto a floured work surface and knead for 10-15 minutes, or until dough becomes smooth 6. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a damp towel until doubled in size (usually 2-4 hours) 7. Divide dough into 4 equal portions and work them into dough balls 8. For best results, ferment in refrigerator for 24-48 hours in a container with a lid and remove 1-2 hours before cooking 9. For same day pizza, let dough balls proof in a container with a lid at room temp for 2-4 hours, or until they have risen and are soft to the touch and can be easily shaped 10. Pizza time!
