Traveling to Maramures in Romania! A region where you almost feel like going back in time. But what to do and what to see here? :) That's what we'l tell you in this video! #botiza #travelromania #maramures --FOLLOW-- ►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/travelgretl ►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/travelgretl/ --MARAMURES WHAT TO DO— We stayed in Botiza from where we did the following: ► Visit the Merry Cemetery close to the Ukrainian boarder.It’s a busy place with a lot of tourists, but it’s definitely worth seeing! ► Visit Bârsana Monastery on top of the hill. Also note that the old church is not on the ground anymore as I explained in the video! You’ll need to drive to an other spot to find it. ► Look up the wooden churches on the map, and just visit some of them. Also the ones not on the world heritage list are very beautiful! Call the number on the church to watch inside, if you’re lucky there’s a guide, sometimes English speaking. ► Hike, the surroundings are beautiful! And with the hills not being too steep it’s a pleasure walking here. --WHERE TO SLEEP BOTIZA, MARAMURES-- We stayed in Pensiunea Sidau Parasca. Which was a great place! Very friendly people, good bed and good (local) food. We got great breakfasts and dinners! The hosts don’t speak much English. Also George Iurca was recommended online, since he knows a lot about history as well! --WHERE TO EAT BOTIZA, MARAMURES-- Since we only ate at the house we stayed in, we didn’t experience much outside. And also I do remember there were not a lot of restaurants from what I saw. --TRANSPORTATION— ► We had our own car to go around which I would highly recommend.
