This video is for teaching purposes! The easiest way, in my experience, to learn a language and accent is to sing slow, easy to remember songs. Here, I have all methods of reading or writing for students to choose from! Here is the pinyin, characters (simplified), and English translation of the song "Suddenly Missing You" by the Taiwanese rock band Mayday. Chinese title is "Tu Rang Hao Xiang Ni". Keep in mind, this is NOT a direct translation, I did take some poetic license to make some phrases sound better and not so clunky in English. If you have got to know a direct translation, message or comment, and I'll gladly give you one! I'm a second year Chinese language student, and thought this would be a fun way to practice my Chinese and showcase some of my favorite Chinese/Taiwanese bands in way that makes them accessible to English speakers. I'm taking suggestions on other songs to do, so if you know a Chinese song or band (Mandarin Chinese, only please) definitely comment or send me a message.
