This week is the first video of 2024 Plant Lovers!! And we're kicking off a New Year with a wonderful, huge and fragrant orchid; Maxillaria nigrescens. Now I've had some mixed results (and emotions!) about Maxillaria, but I bought this plant from an orchid sale and was able to speak to the grower who has basically exactly the same conditions as me, but slightly colder winter night time minimums, and she gave me great care advice! And it paid off as I hadn't noticed this huge flower emerging until it was almost open! So lets talk all things my new understanding of how I should be growing Maxillaria in my conditions.
