He graduated in Physics at the University of Bari and was Staff member at Max Planck Institut in Stuttgart (Germany), under the direction of Physics Nobel Prize professor Klaus von Klitzing. He is Scientific Director of the Italian Institute of Technology of Genoa. He is author and co-author of more than 700 publications on international magazines and has registered around 30 patents. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
