This is a Motormouth couple car review of the updated 2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata. What’s new for 2024? The MX-5 gets a light refresh with some updates to the exterior including new headlamps, taillamps, wheel designs and a new colour called Aero Grey has been added. The interior gets some nice updates including extra padding at the centre console, updated technology with the addition of an 8.8” display screen with Mazda Connect replacing the 7” screen. When using Apple Carplay and Android Auto, it becomes a touchscreen and for the first time Mazda’s first ever integration of Alexa. Mazda has also updated the power steering and it has a new available limited slip differential, all for improved handling. Mazda says when working to achieve its 50/50 weight distribution, Mazda made a point to take measurements with a driver behind the wheel. The MX-5 has kinematic posture control which works with the suspension and braking systems to provide better balance and feel when cornering. In Canada, the 2024 Mazda MX-5 soft top starts at $34,900 CAD, GS-P Soft top/RF $38,900 CAD/$41,900 CAD and GT Soft top/RF $42,000 CAD/$45,000 CAD.
