STAR TREK – CHERISHED MEMORIES Here’s a fantastic, energetic, up tempo version of the famous theme from “Star Trek” – one of the most popular television series of all time. Indeed : for people my age, “Star Trek” (the original series especially) will always remain one of our most cherished childhood memories. I will never forget how we would reunite before the TV set around 6 pm on Saturdays, when Star Trek was aired on national television. It was a moment of great joy and expectation when the episode would start at which point we all were wondering what kind of magic would follow …. Part of the fun (and that part is bigger than one would initially think) was (and is) the music. Offered at first to Jerry Goldsmith the theme eventually was written by Alexander Courage. In the later series and movies, other music would be used, but the original theme kept coming back probably (no, … definitely !) because of its outstanding quality. The sixties and the seventies were THE “Star Trek” decades. Star Trek has coloured our teenage years and we are sure those of many others my age…. Here, as a tribute to the composer, is our channel’s version of the famous theme. And now, let’s (musically) “go where no man has gone before” with the Andy Ross Orchestra performing the “Theme from Star Trek” for our listening pleasure. Enjoy !
